The Consulate General of Nepal in New York hosted an event entitled, “Reimagine Yourself . . . in Nepal” to promote tourism and mark the occasion of 75th anniversary of Nepal-USA diplomatic relations.  Below are some of the highlights from this event.

New York State Assembly

Vanessa O’Brien, Passang Nima Sherpa, and Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar were present at the New York State Assembly on May 24, 2022, as legislation introduced by the Assemblywoman was unanimously passed ensuring that New York State would recognize May 29th, beginning May 29, 2022, as Mt. Everest Day.

U.S. Nepal Climbers Association

In partnership with Arc’Teryx New York, local Nepali communities, politicians, advisors and diplomats, US Nepal Climbers Association holds fundraising events every year.  In 2021, at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture, we celebrated recognizing May 29th as Mt. Everest Day. This was proposed to the New York State Assembly through Resolution No. 330 by Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar.
