Denali Foundation’s Sixth Annual Gala

It was an honour to be part of the Denali Foundation’s Sixth Annual Gala on November 4, 2021, at The Yale Club, New York City, the first ‘in person’ event since Covid-19. This was the most successful fundraiser to date, and for a very good cause, giving underserved children access to artistic supplies.

Denali Foundation was founded in 2015 to honor the memory of Denali Schmidt.  Denali graduated from the California College of the Arts and was an artist and an avid climber.  Two months after his graduation, he and his father died in an avalanche while climbing K2.  This tragedy inspired his sister Sequoia Schmidt to start the foundation to preserve his legacy and inspire future artists.
